1. I'd like to see Japan. Is a visa required?
Individuals from certain nations (or regions) do not require a visa if their stay in Japan is for 90 days or less and they will not be engaged in income-generating activities. Consult the list of countries and regions with whom Japan has visa exclusion agreements.
2. I desire like to invite a foreign visitor to Japan. Which processes are needed?
(1) Kindly submit a Note of Purpose for Invitation and draw up a Routine of Visit in the case of an invitation for a short-term stay (in the particular instance that you are welcoming friends or relatives, staff of a corporation with which you do marketing, etc. for an entire stay of 90 days or less and will not be earning them a revenue). 4. Is it required for me to submit the visa application at the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General on my own?
There are three possibilities for applying for a visa: (1) the visa candidate goes straight to the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General, (2) the visa candidate composes a Note of Proxy and has a proxy go to the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General in his or her stead, and (3) the visa candidate uses an authorised tour operator endorsed by the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General. However, based on the conditions in your nation or region, the documents may be filed only by the candidate himself or via an authorized travel agent at the Japanese Embassy or Consulate. Check with the embassy or consulate to which you plan to apply before making the application.
5. Can I fill out the visa application form in a different nation at the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate General?
You can obtain a visa at the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General in your home nation (region) or your nation (region) of stay (if there are multiple, apply at the one closest to where you live). In other words, you cannot obtain a visa at your intended destination; however, if unforeseen situations exist, you should speak with the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General where you want to apply for the visa prior proceeding.
6. What is the duration of the registration examination?
The typical procedure time begins the day after the request is filed and ends five working days later. However, if extra checks are required (such as the presentation of specific documentation, a meeting with the applicant, or enquiries), or if the visa application is for a long-term stay without a Proof of Eligibility, the investigation may take much longer than five working days (from several weeks to several months). As a result, you should submit your application far ahead of your anticipated travel date.
7. Why was it necessary for me to submit additional paperwork?
Other details may be required for the examination procedure, and you may be asked to submit more papers in supplementary to those listed as required. Because each candidate has unique situations and conditions that we may not be conscious of until after the request has been approved, there are some papers that we do not require everyone to send right away. 8. Because my flight is coming, could you please issue the visa as quickly and efficiently as possible?

9. Why can't I resubmit as soon as my visa application is denied?
If your earlier visa application was denied and you apply for the same reason of travel within six months of the denial, we will not approve your request. This is because, if we approve the same request the day after it was denied, the applicant's conditions would not vary, and the assessment outcome would be the same. However, in cases where your situation has changed dramatically since the denial and going to Japan is required for humanitarian reasons, we may approve reapplications within six months. Before applying for a visa, check with the Japanese Embassy or Consulate where you plan to apply.
10. Is it possible to pay for visa issuing expenses with a credit card or a cheque?
Payments must be made in cash using local currency, according to Japanese policies and guidelines. You will not be able to pay the charges with credit cards or cheques. If the visa application is not granted, you will not be charged any visa processing expenses.
11. I will like to delay my trip. When does my visa expire?
A single-entry visa is eligible for three months (and becomes expired once you reach Japan). You must visit Japan within three months of receiving your visa. If you want to delay your trip for more than three months, you'll need to submit a new visa request.
12. In the end, I opted against inviting a foreign national to Japan. Could you revoke that individual's visa?
Explain the cancellation of the invitation in a remark and submit it by Fax or mail, along with the visa applicant's unique identifying information, to the Embassy / Consulate General that gives out the visa or the Foreign Nationals' Affairs Division, Consular Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, advise the visa candidate to submit his or her passport to the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General where the visa was issued for revocation. Even if the visa is revoked before it is used, the payments will not be returned.
13. I misplaced my passport, which contained my visa. What am I supposed to do?
To report the incident, contact the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General that granted the visa. You should also fill out a lost item form and submit it to the nearby police station. If you require a new visa, you should submit a new request.
14. What will happen to the individual details provided during the visa proposal?
According to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Administrative Organs, the individual details of the visa candidate, inviting person, and guarantor will be handled effectively in the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General. Local tour operators that want to manage visa applications must also gain permission from Japanese embassies/consulates, under the proviso that they agree to handle private details properly in accordance with the aforementioned statute, using the same standards as the outsourced firm.
15. What is the legislative justification for issuing or refusing to issue my visa?’
The choice to grant or not grant a visa to a foreign individual is based on a sovereign act of each government under international customary law.
